Electrochemiluminescence immunoassay (ECLA) is a quantitative method for measurement of antigen or antibody based on the change in electrochemiluminescence (ECL) signal. As a combination of an electrochemical assay and a spectrometric assay, the ECL assay holds the advantages of both two methods. Owing to its excellent performance in the rapid detection of viruses, such as cost-effective, rapid and ultra-sensitive assay, the method has gained widespread attention. Creative Proteomics is a custom service provider in viral research with a focus on virus detection. For detection and quantification of viruses, the platform based on the highly sensitive and specific ECL-based immunoassay has been established in Creative Proteomics. Based on a professionally trained team and advanced techniques, we are dedicated to providing global customers with the optimal solutions to all their virus detection needs.
Electrochemiluminescence (ECL) is a phenomenon of light emission inducted by an excited state of species generated at the electrode surface undergoing high-energetic electron-transfer reactions. And the emitted light can be detected easily by simple instrumentation. The ECL-based detection has been successfully applied in a wide range of immunological and molecular assay systems. For virus detection, ECL-based immunoassay is an ideal choice, and possesses several advantages over chemiluminescent immunoassays (CLIA). Analogous to CLIA, ECL does not require an external light source. Therefore, the method is freed from scattered-light and luminescent impurity interferences. Although ECL is a form of CLIA, the method is more controlled and sensitive than the latter. In addition, compared to other different immunoassays (such as ELISA and fluorescence immunoassays), ECL-based immunoassay has shown reproducibility and sensitivity superiorities. The ECL-based immunoassay has represented a rapid, sensitive, and cost-effective assay for virus detection. And the method has been successfully utilized in investigation of multiple viruses, such as zika virus (ZIKV) and hepatitis B virus (HBV).
