Viruses often dynamically modulate host protein expression for living, including enhancing the host proteins required for productive infection, degrading cellular proteins restricting virus replication, and so on. In turn, against virus infection, virus-induced host responses often lead to the degradation of viral proteins or the turnover of certain cellular proteins. In total, viral replication fitness and viral tropism are affected by these cross talks, which are driven by the regulation of viral and/or cellular protein abundance. Our global proteome profiling services are based on label-free or label-based proteomic analysis methods. Each of these methods has its own advantages. The label-based proteomic analysis provides higher relative quantification accuracy, which allows identifying minute differences between samples or experimental conditions. However, they are only suitable for in vitro or cell-culture-based research and their sample preparation is laborious and time-consuming as they require specialized cell lines and special growth media. Compared with label-based methods, label-free proteomics is relatively inexpensive and less time-consuming. In recent years, due to its broad adaptability and the development of user-friendly software, label-free proteomics is becoming more and more popular.

Global proteome profilingThe main benefit of MS-based technology in proteomics is capable of providing a wide range of proteomic information in a dynamic and quantitative manner, with multiplexity, high-throughput capability, and high reproducibility. MS-based proteomic platforms have been successfully used to better understand the mechanisms of viral infection, involving precisely identifying viral and cellular proteins, enabling us to detect important pathway proteins, enlarging protein-protein interaction maps.
